This November, our founder Sarah Tilley will lead a new four-part online course in collaboration with The Psychedelic Society UK, exploring the intersection of psychedelics, relationships, attachment, intimacy and sexuality.
Psychedelic research has largely focused on the individual: the individual mind, experience and therapeutic outcome. Yet much of our emotional life unfolds in relationships.
Across four live sessions, Sarah will explore how our earliest experiences shape the way we love, why intimacy and desire change over time, what can happen when psychedelics enter the relational field, and what it takes for a profound experience to translate into meaningful, lasting change between two people.
Drawing on more than two decades of therapeutic practice, Sarah’s work with couples using legal psilocybin in the Netherlands, and Beautiful Space’s research collaboration with Imperial College London, the course brings together relationship psychology, attachment, sexuality, trauma, embodiment and emerging psychedelic research.
The Four Sessions
11 November – Why Love Is So Difficult
Attachment, selfhood and the unconscious patterns we bring into adult relationships.
18 November – Where Did the Sex Go?
Desire, intimacy, embodiment and the changing dynamics of long-term relationships.
25 November – Two People, One Trip
What happens when psychedelic experiences enter the relational field, including shared and separate experiences within couples.
2 December – Can Psychedelics Change a Relationship?
How psychedelic insights may become sustained relational change through integration, repair and new ways of relating.
The course is designed for anyone interested in the intersection of psychedelics and human relationships, including individuals and couples, therapists and practitioners, researchers and students, and those interested in attachment, intimacy, sexuality and relational wellbeing.
