The Process
Screening (Online)
Starting with an advanced medical screening will help us understand your expectations and intentions for the program, assess your health, and determine whether it’s safe and suitable for you to participate.
Preparation (Online)
Preparation is key to a successful therapeutic experience.
We will help you unravel your life story and construct a timeline of the women in your family, exploring generational trauma and points of change.
By creating your future story and setting a clear intention for the psilocybin journey, we will guide you through understanding and accepting your needs and vulnerabilities.
A personalised psycho-educational program, including books, mindfulness and journaling exercises, will further deepen your knowledge of psychedelics and catalyse reflection and growth.
Medicine Retreat (In-Person)
The psilocybin journey takes place in person in a 3-day retreat in the Netherlands.
Your therapist will come to your chosen place of stay, ensuring a comfortable and safe experience throughout.
A heart-opening ceremony the evening before the medicine day will help to prepare you emotionally, physically, and mentally for the journey ahead.
On the medicine day, we will guide you through consuming a carefully controlled dose of psilocybin truffles and facilitate a journey ‘inwards’.
After the ‘trip’ comes to an end, we will explore and find the story of what came up.
Integration (In-Person & Online)
Integration is where real change occurs. After your psilocybin experience, you will work with your therapist to effectively extract the wisdom from your journey and put it into actionable change.
You will create a detailed plan that aligns the insights you had with the life you want to lead and learn valuable strategies that will ensure accountability to the plan and help you maintain your new lifestyle.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Psilocybin is a naturally occurring psychedelic compound found in certain types of mushrooms.
It has been used for centuries in spiritual and shamanic practices and is known for its ability to induce profound changes in consciousness and perception.
The effects of psilocybin can include altered sensory experiences, changes in mood and thought patterns, and an enhanced sense of connection to oneself, others, and the natural world.
Beautiful Space offers guided psilocybin experiences in a safe and supportive environment for individuals seeking personal growth and healing. Psilocybin Truffles are legal in the Netherlands, where we operate legally.
-
A psychedelic experience is a profound shift in consciousness that can be induced by the use of certain substances or practices, such as psilocybin, LSD, ayahuasca, meditation, or breathwork.
It can include altered perceptions of time and space, vivid visual and auditory hallucinations, and a deep sense of interconnectedness and unity with all things.
Psychedelic experiences have been used for centuries in spiritual and healing traditions, and are increasingly being studied for their potential therapeutic benefits.
-
Will I have to take time off work?
The psilocybin effects usually last for about 6 hours.
Before the medicine day, you will have time to prepare for the experience and after the effects are over there will be time to discuss and integrate the experience with your guide and your partner.
The day after the experience you will have a second integration to better make sense of the experience and the insights it brought into your life.
For the medicine day, you will have to fly to the Netherlands, for this reason, we advise you to take some time off work, to both dedicate enough time to the experience and to adequately integrate it in the days after.
However single cases can be better discussed at later stages.
-
Truffles containing psilocybin are safe when consumed in appropriate doses and in a safe and supportive environment.
However, as with any psychoactive substance, there are potential risks and side effects that should be considered. These can include anxiety, paranoia, confusion, and physical discomfort, as well as the potential for psychological distress.
Nevertheless, it is important to acknowledge that experiencing challenging emotions is part of the therapeutic action of psilocybin, as the experience can give you the chance to confront and accept painful emotions instead of suppressing them.
The Beautiful Space team will put a lot of attention and care into creating a safe and supportive space where you will be able to experience a safe experience.
-
While psilocybin is generally safe to consume in supportive environments, there are certain groups of people who may be at higher risk of adverse effects. These include:
Individuals with a personal or family history of mental health disorders: Psychedelics can exacerbate underlying mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder.
Individuals with a history of psychosis: Psychedelics can trigger or worsen psychotic symptoms, including delusions and hallucinations.
Individuals with a history of cardiovascular disease: Psychedelics can cause changes in blood pressure and heart rate, which may be dangerous for individuals with a history of heart disease.
Pregnant or breastfeeding women: The effects of psychedelics on the developing fetus or infant are not well understood and therefore it is not recommended to use them during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
-
On retreat, we determine your dosage together with you during your one-to-one conversation.
Our dosage recommendations vary depending on your intentions, previous experience with psychedelics, your sensitivity to expanded states of consciousness, and your anxiety level while on retreat.
On average we use doses between 15 and 45 grams of fresh truffles containing psilocybin. This is comparable to the doses used in research studies.
As a rule of thumb, one gram of fresh truffles contains approximately 1mg of psilocybin, alongside other alkaloids such as psilocin, baeocystin and nor-baeocystin.
-
The setting of the experience will be a comfortable, secure, and supportive environment that minimizes potential risks and maximizes positive outcomes.
The Beautiful Space team puts a lot of effort in creating an ideal environment for supporting your experience.
A psychedelic facilitator will be with you during the entire duration of the experience to provide psychological support and safety.
Extensive preparation and integration before and after the experience will also be provided.
-
We do not provide other types of psychedelic substances as psilocybin-containing truffles are the only type of psychedelics currently legal in the Netherlands.
NN-DMT, 5MeO-DMT, LSD and mescaline are all illegal and our services are fully compliant with existing regulations.
-
Many problems in relationships and sexual life arise because of past trauma and the development of unhealthy attachment styles.
Moreover, with our stressful everyday lives, we often forget to let go and focus on the pleasure of the present moment and dedicate enough time to our loved ones.
At the same time, we are often too self-focused, trapped inside cycles of ruminative thinking and unable to effectively communicate our needs.
Psychedelic drugs have been shown to foster increased feelings of connection towards oneself and others, decrease ruminative thinking, and increase willingness to let go and accept emotions.
Promising evidence also showed how psychedelics might increase awareness to the present moment, openness to try new things and activities and promote attachment security.
Several studies on romantic couples indicate how experiencing intimacy with your partner has an important role in maintaining sexual desire in long-term relationships.
The capacity to be mindful is also extremely important for nourishing a sexual life, as having an excessive focus on oneself and only evaluating one’s own sexual experience has been shown to reduce sexual desire and relationship satisfaction.
-
While there is plenty of anecdotal evidence suggesting that psilocybin can be a powerful adjunct for helping couples dealing with relationship issues, loss of intimacy and connection, there is not a formal study that investigated the matter.
For this reason, we are currently starting a collaboration with Imperial College London to investigate the effects of psilocybin on couples.
-
You do not need a mental health diagnosis to benefit from psilocybin, and we do not currently offer treatment to people with a mental health diagnosis.
Psilocybin can be particularly useful for spiritual growth and personal development as it is a powerful tool for facilitating spiritual experiences and a sense of connection to something greater than oneself.
This can be particularly valuable for individuals who are seeking a deeper understanding of themselves and their place in the world, or who are looking to explore their spirituality.
Existing research on healthy people has shown that a psychedelic experience can foster mindfulness skills, a greater sense of well-being, healthier life habits and a deeper sense of empathy and connectedness to significant others and the whole world.
-
Yes.
We work with women in our program of female empowerment and individuals (men and women) who are on a conscious journey of personal growth.
-
People have different needs and not everyone is comfortable or suited for having a psychedelic experience with their partner.
People can have issues in dealing with romantic relationships while they are single, realise they need to do personal work before embarking in a relationship again or can simply be interested in personal and spiritual growth.
Individual approaches can focus on all of this, allowing the individual to have a 1-to-1 approach with our guides consisting of extensive before and after preparation and integration and a medicine day in the Netherlands.
You can find more about individual approaches here.
-
At Beautiful Space, we are extremely committed in providing a safe experience to our customers.
Although the retreat experience can be beneficial for many, for some it’s not appropriate to consume truffles containing psilocybin. These include people who have medical contraindications relating to their physical and mental health such as:
Individuals with a personal or family history of mental health disorders:
Psychedelics can exacerbate underlying mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder.
Our health screening process aims to mitigate the risk for our participants during and after the retreat.
We have a dedicated screening team that assesses each application with careful consideration and takes into account the latest research and guidelines to inform our safety protocols.
-
People trying psychedelics and psychedelic-assisted approaches are usually new to them and having some anxiety and reservations in trying something so different than usual is completely normal.
If you are curious and open about the experience and about what it might bring you, contact us to know more and we will organise an introductory call with a member of our team where you will have a chance to discuss all your doubts.

Combining serotonergic antidepressants with serotonergic psychedelics containing monoamine oxidase inhibitors increases the risk for serotonin-related adverse reactions.
These serotonin-related adverse reactions present along a spectrum, with the mildest symptoms being insomnia, nausea, anxiety, and diarrhoea, and the most severe reactions (known as serotonin toxicity) presenting as extreme fluctuations in blood pressure, heart rate, and breathing, increased agitation, muscle rigidity, delirium, and coma.
Truffles containing psilocybin have only trace amounts of monoamine oxidase inhibitor compounds called b-carbolines. So, while the risk is still present, it is not acute.
Another physical risk to be aware of is the possibility of potentially dangerous changes in the electrical conductivity of the heart, which can lead to heart rhythm disturbances.
This is mostly associated with a class of antidepressants known as Tricyclic Antidepressants. Despite the physical risk being low, the subjective experience of truffles containing psilocybin can be affected if you are receiving treatment with SSRI/SNRI medications.
Anecdotal reports from psychiatric research indicate that antidepressants generally reduce the response to classical psychedelics (such as truffles containing psilocybin).
This means that your subjective experience can be blunted. This blunting (or numbing) effect is however not always reported, and some individuals will have no difference in their psychedelic experience as a result of taking serotonergic antidepressants.
Always check with your healthcare provider whether it is safe for you to consume truffles containing psilocybin with your antidepressant medication.
-
We do not offer psychedelic therapy for psychiatric disorders, but we offer psilocybin experiences for personal and couple growth and healing, creating a safe and compassionate non-medical healing space.
While our protocols and training are based on the best therapeutic practices currently available in the field, scientific research is still working on what constitutes effective therapy.
We're working hard to develop our capacities which will allow us to offer legal therapeutic treatment.

Psilocybin truffles, also known as "magic truffles," are completely legal in the Netherlands.
The sale of psilocybin truffles is allowed in licensed "smart shops" in the Netherlands, which are establishments that sell a variety of products related to the use of soft substances.
We get psilocybin truffles through licenced smart shops, so the products we use are controlled, safe and fully legal.
While truffles are legal, they are not approved as a medical treatment yet.
For this reason, it is important to note ceremonies are not meant to substitute medical or psychotherapeutic care offered in standard settings.
