Breathwork In Psychedelic Therapy

  • Beautiful Space Wellnes NL B.V 5 John M. Keynesplein Amsterdam, NH, 1066 EP Netherlands (map)

Discover how conscious breathwork can deepen safety, presence, and integration in psychedelic practice.

Breath is one of the most powerful, and most overlooked, tools we have for working with altered states.

Yet most of us were never taught how to use breath intentionally: to regulate the nervous system, move through resistance, or prepare the body for the depth that psychedelic experiences can bring.

For therapists, coaches, facilitators, and psychedelic practitioners, breathwork is far more than a warm-up exercise. It is a direct pathway into the nervous system, the emotions, and the layers of experience that psychedelics can unlock, offering a way to access altered states safely, consciously, and with greater agency.

Join Sarah Tilley, Founder of Beautiful Space, and Jamie Clements, breathwork facilitator and founder of The Breath Space, for a thought-provoking conversation exploring how breath and psychedelics intersect and what this means for practitioners and explorers alike.

Together they will discuss:

  • What breathwork is, and how it shifts the nervous system and state of consciousness

  • The parallels between breathwork and psychedelic journeys

  • How conscious breathing can prepare the body and mind before a psychedelic experience

  • Using breath as a tool for grounding, regulation, and integration afterward

  • Why breathwork can be a powerful standalone practice for accessing altered states without substances

  • Safety considerations when combining breathwork and psychedelic practice

  • How facilitators can use breath to support clients through intensity, resistance, or overwhelm

  • Building embodied awareness as a foundation for deeper psychedelic work

Whether you are a curious explorer, a psychedelic practitioner, or someone supporting others through transformative states, this conversation will offer practical insight into how the breath can become one of your most valuable allies.

About Jamie Clements

Jamie Clements is a breathwork facilitator, speaker, and founder of The Breath Space. His work helps people move from burnout, anxiety, and disconnection to regulation, embodiment, and meaning, one conscious breath at a time. Drawing on functional breathing, nervous system health and conscious connected breathwork, Jamie guides individuals and communities back to themselves through practical, trauma-aware breathwork. As host of The Human Nature Podcast, he explores the intersection of breath, healing, and culture. His mission: to protect the depth of breathwork in a world that wants to commodify it and to remind us that we’re not broken, just disconnected.
